About Bernice

In Feb 2014 we bought our beloved Mazda Bongo campervan. No one can quite remember how she came to be named Bernice but the name stuck.

Bernice is a T reg Bongo with an Auto Free Top (AFT). She has a full side conversion with a rock and roll bed.

Here she is relaxing in Hastings with the roof up…

And inside, rocking a 1950s cocktail theme (shameless plug for my talented sister-in-law at Jill Johnson Upholstry in Cupar, Fife).

Since 2014 we have been on so many adventures. We mainly camp in East Anglia and the South East of England although Bernice has been as far as Scotland and the south of France.

There’s three of us explorers – Jess (me), Scott and Shorty Camper (SC).

There’s also Kizzy and Midnight the cats and the fish in the clan but they’re not the biggest camping fans….

I’ll be blogging about our adventures in Bernice, reviewing the places we’ve stayed, sharing our top tips and the people (and Bongos) we’ve met on our travels.
Other passions include cycling, playing the trumpet, gardening, minimalism, days out in London and vintage Airstream caravans so I might sneak a bit of that in as well, especially in the quieter winter months.

I’d love to hear from fellow bloggers, Bongo owners and camping / outdoor enthusiasts. Please comment on the blog or message me directly.
